The Lefurgey Cultural Centre, on the corner of Granville and Prince Streets in downtown Summerside, offers facilities for local individuals to conduct private art and music lessons. It has also been used for a variety of local cultural activities and is a convenient gathering place for groups such as the Summerside Historical Society. As part of the Wyatt Heritage Properties, the house provides office space for the Manager of the properties, the museum cataloguer, and various temporary museum interpretive and program staff. The summer tourist season of 2002 was used as an opportunity to have a gift shop in the front parlour, as well as a modest Tea Room in the drawing room. COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS Due to the recent upgrading and restoration project all activities at the Lefurgey Cultural Centre were curtailed. Wyatt Heritage Properties staff look forward to resumption of arts and cultural activities for the summer of 2004. Watch this page and our News and Events page for announcements. |
