MacNaught History Centre

The mandate of the MacNaught History Centre and Archives is to acquire, preserve, describe, and make available to researchers, textual and multi-media materials pertaining to the history of the City Of Summerside and the surrounding County of Prince in the province of Prince Edward Island.

In order to fulfill this mandate, we have been writing descriptions of many of the materials already in our possession. Standard measures to preserve and protect our collection have been taken. We provide access to our reference library and archival materials during the hours shown on the MHCA main page.

In the matter of acquisitions, the MacNaught History Centre and Archives is consistently seeking new materials and invites anyone wishing to donate records of historical interest to contact us. Individuals not wishing to part with original materials, e.g. photographs, would perhaps entertain a loan period enabling us to make copies for the use of researchers.
