The MacNaught History Centre and Archives began working on fonds descriptions in the fall of 2001 with funding from the Canadian Archival Information Network. We acknowledge the financial support of the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Canadian Culture Online Program, the National Archives of Canada and the Canadian Council of Archives. A fonds, according to the Bureau of Canadian Archivists, is defined as "The whole of the documents, regardless of form or medium, automatically and organically created and/or accumulated and used by a particular individual, family, or corporate body in the course of that creator’s activities or functions." The major fonds in our Archives is the extensive accumulation of materials that came from the Wyatt household. The Wanda Wyatt fonds description, plus the series descriptions of the diaries and correspondence are available on this website. The other descriptions that you can access here are the fonds descriptions for the Summerside and Area Historical Society, the City of Summerside, plus some others that offer a sampling of scanned images. Make your selection here: MHCA0001 - Wanda Wyatt fonds » Series 1: Diaries » Series 2: Correspondence » Image Gallery MHCA0005 - Summerside & Area Historical Society fonds » Image Gallery MCHA0009 - Daley Family fonds » Image Gallery MHCA0010 - City of Summerside fonds MHCA0011 - Murray Family fonds » Image Gallery MHCA0014 - Holden C.
