Wyatt Heritage Properties’ Old Fashioned Carnival Set for June 26th

June 26th is the day to mark on your calendar to participate in some good old fashion fun. Wyatt Heritage Properties of Summerside presents its seventh annual Old Fashioned Carnival in the gardens of the Lefurgey Cultural Centre on the afternoon of the June 26th.

The pre-Canada Day Victorian carnival is a great way to celebrate the country’s upcoming birthday, the ending of the school year, and the beginning of the summer season. The Wyatt garden, surrounded by the 1867 Victorian Lefurgey House and the Wyatt House, is transformed to a simpler time as it hosts the carnival. There are over a dozen carnival games to play at the Victorian cost of five cents per game. Barkers will be calling out for you to try their game to see if you can beat the odds. The tea tent is a relaxing spot to chat with old and new friends while enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of Canada birthday cake for the cost of ten cents. If you are the curious type, you can pay Madame Jamie, two cents to read your tea leaves. Well-known Island musician, Roy MacCaull and Friends will be entertaining on the outdoor stage beneath the century old trees. Costumed characters from the Victorian era will be welcoming guests to the carnival.

Of course, no carnival is complete without the smells of carnival food filling the air. The cost of the carnival food is the only modern day pricing of the event.

The carnival happens between the hours of 4 and 7 pm and there is something for all ages. For a fun time, pack up the car and head to Summerside on June 26th
