The Wyatt women were fortunate to receive prestigious educations. Both Dorothy and Wanda attended Edgehill School for Girls in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Wanda later went off to Montreal to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and then off to the University of Chicago to become the first Island woman to study law. Remnants of the Wyatt girls' schooling are displayed throughout Wanda's room. Hanging proudly on the closet door is a doctorate collar from the University of Prince Edward Island. Wanda received this honour in 1992 for her major contributions to the university and the Island as a whole. Wanda's bedroom was not exclusively her room, but was rented out during the war years to officers from the air forces who were training at the nearby newly constructed British Commonwealth Air Training School. Lifelong friendships developed between the Wyatt sisters and the men that came to stay.
